Cuttputli is a Hindi action thriller film that tells the story of an amateur cop who is on a journey to find the ultimate truth as he slowly unravels a mysterious conspiracy that has a small town plagued with serial killings. The movie's direction and cinematography are below average, as the director fails to remake the 2018 superhit Ratsasan, which was appreciated for its storyline. Actors Akshay Kumar and Rakul Preet are the only saving graces of the movie, as they put up a good show as a pair. The supporting case includes names like Sargun Mehta, Hrishitaa Bhatt, and Sujith Shanker, all of whom are great in their casting. Further, the themes of mystery and thrill are present throughout the movie, as the film tries to recreate the superhit regional film by mimicking the on-screen tension. Overall, Cuttputli is a Bollywood movie that fails to recreate the magic of the movie it is a remake of.
