Naushad was to compose music for this movie, Daasi, but when Rajesh Roshan wanted to compose music for this movie, Naushad Saab made way for Rajesh as his father Roshan and Naushad were friends. Then Rajesh Roshan recorded 2 songs for this film but then Raj Khosla the director of Daasi, decided that Ravindra Jain should compose the remaining songs of the movie.
Music composer Rajesh Roshan had recorded 2 songs for this movie, Premi sabhi hote hai diwane sung by Kishore Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar and the other song was Bindiya Jayegi, it was sung by Manna Day. The rest songs Ravindra Jain had composed. All the songs were written by Anand Bakshi.
Daasi is a different film with good story,direction, music, perfomance. When it was released in the year 1981 the movie dint make any impact. But now, after 30 years if someone watches the movie, it will be liked, it is a Classic. The movie was ahead of its times.
In this film, Rakesh Roshan gave a good perfomance, he had a negative role also Vickram acted well.
Rekha was a last minute addition to make the distributors happy.
