Das Ka Dhamki, directed by Vishwak Sen, attempts to delve into the "eat the rich" genre, but the execution leaves a lot to be desired. The film follows Krishna Das, a waiter and orphan who is tired of being disrespected by the rich customers at the star hotel where he works. After a customer goes too far, he decides to spend a day pretending to be a wealthy customer with his friends. However, things take a turn when he meets a fashion student named Keerthi, who mistakes him for the CEO of a pharmaceutical company. What follows is a series of events that turn his life upside down. The first half of the film follows typical commercial comedy tropes, with foreign locales, duets, and lots of laughs. However, the predictable storyline and problematic tropes make it hard to invest in the characters. The second half attempts to bring in twists and turns, but it falls flat due to inconsistent pacing and choppy editing. The core point of the film, the pharmaceutical industry, is crucial to the plot but lacks any real emotional investment. Despite its flaws, Das Ka Dhamki is watchable thanks to Vishwak Sen's good performance. Nivetha Pethuraj is also dependable in her role. The rest of the cast performs well, but some roles are wasted. The background score is more interesting than the music, and the cinematography is good. Overall, Das Ka Dhamki has potential but ultimately fails to deliver a satisfying experience.
