STORY

Story
Ray Lorkin, chief lawman in the tiny rural settlement of Wala Wala, Australia, fears that long-simmering tensions between the area's aborigine natives and white settlers are on the verge of erupting. The period of principal photography on this picture was a production shoot that ran between five and a half and six and a half weeks.

Fifth theatrical feature film to be financed by the FFC (Film Finance Corporation) Film Fund.

This picture from Australia in 1996 was nominated for 3 AFI (Australian Film Institute) Awards including Best Original Music Score, Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Achievement in Sound but the movie failed to take home a gong in any of these categories.

The film in 1997 was the winner of the Best Adapted Screenplay Award for screen-writer and source playwright Nick Parsons which was awarded by the FCCA (Film Critics Circle of Australia).

Actor Lewis Fitz-Gerald previously also portrayed a teacher in Fighting Back (1982).
