Tupak Shakur's mother, Afeni Shakur, was involved in health activism in late 1960's and early 70's? A member of the Black Panther Party, she became involved in multiple areas advocating for better healthcare and the treatment of patients. She was an integral part in the authoring and drafting of the Patient's Bill of Rights, which can be found on hospital walls around the US today. The Patient's Bill of Rights addressed many aspects of healthcare that include fair treatment for all, as well as a patient having access to their own records.
