TRIVIA

Trivia

Kamal Hassan s last hindi film from 1981 to 1985 and then he returned with a movie movie -Chachi 420 in 1997.

Rati stated while dubbing for the film she realized the audience would not even know she and Kamal were not on talking terms while filming the movie.

The film was in production since 1982. The film kept getting delayed due to problems between Kamal and Rati. This would cause Kamal Haasan to head back to the South industry and stop doing Hindi films. Kamal was upset how disorganized Hindi films were made. Film stories and screenplays were changed on the sets. Dekha Pyar Tumhara was one of those films.

Problems between Kamal and Rati started after Ek Dujhe Ke Liye. Rati and her mother spoke against Kamal Haasan's guru K.Balachander. They stated he gave Kamal more importance in the film. They went on to add K.Balachander was anti north Indian. Kamal had enough. He stated if it was a about him he wouldn't mind. But she had no right to speak like that about a director of that caliber. Kamal stated he never made personal comments on Rati as a human being. He only commented on her work. K. Balachander stated that Rati was wooden and he had to waste so much raw stock retaking her scene's. Kamal would go on to add if Rati could speak like that about her guru, she could verbally trash anyone. Rati retaliate saying that the guru and his chela are making a controversy. They are only looking for publicity in Bombay. It was Kamal and K.Balachander whi were openly and discreetly speaking ill of her. Rati stated she never said anti north Indian. That was the interviewers mistake. Rati stated her father was Punjabi and mother Maharastrian. She lived in the south so she would never make a comment like that. Rati stated she called K. Balachander to clear things up. But he never came on the telephone. Then he sent a letter against Rati to a magazine. Before the letter got published he got cold feet and asked for it not to published. Rati stated if she was wooden why would L.V. Prasad sign her for his next. She was sure it was Kamal who instigating K.Balachander against her. Kamal would go on to ask how Rati's father was allowing her to keep speaking ill of K.Balachander. Kamal also blamed Rati's father.
