The art deco structure that houses the detective agency has served as both newspaper and city government offices (most obvious from the "Marriage License" sign visible at the end of the movie). In addition to the detective agency, scenes for the hospital and interrogation room were also shot at this location.
The first day of shooting saw unusually low temperatures for southern Alabama, with highs in the teens. The jacket Daisy (Erin Lilley) wears throughout the movie was a last minute addition from the actress's own closet, solely to cover the layers of thermal clothing added under her costume for safety purposes.
A Wanted poster for the Crichton Leprechaun is prominently displayed in Nick's (Khristian Fulmer) office. The Crichton (or Mobile) Leprechaun rose to fame after a 2006 local news report went viral.
The vampire skull displayed on Nick's (Khristian Fulmer) desk is from Smith's first feature film, The Night Shift. It was used whenever the animatronic skeleton, Herbie, was needed for stunt work. As a nod to the film, the plaque on the display reads "First Hunt".
