The premise for the film was originally pitched as an episode for Scooby-Doo and Guess Who? (2019).

This is the fifth Scooby-Doo crossover with a Cartoon Network series. The previous four being Johnny Bravo (1997), The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy (2001), OK K.O.! Let's Be Heroes (2017) and Teen Titans Go! (2013).

Series creator John Dilworth was not involved with the movie.

The Mystery Machine has custom front and back plates that both say 'Zoinks!'
