Minutes before the premiere of Descendants 3, Dove Cameron admitted that she, Sofia Carson, and Booboo Stewart sent messages of love to Cameron Boyce in their group text chain saying that they loved him.

As well as the parents of the 4 main VKs (including Mal's mother Maleficent who makes no appearance in Descendants 3 (2019) as a human or a lizard), Lonnie (daughter of Mulan and Shang) is the only character in the trilogy who does not appear in this film due to scheduling conflicts with her actress Dianne Doan, which upset several fans who Lonnie had been a favourite character of especially after her role in Descendants 2 (2017), where it was also hinted that she and Jay could become a couple. Whilst no explanation for her absence was mentioned in the film itself, some sites have stated that Lonnie had been busy on the professional R.O.A.R. team for Northern Wei.
Harry, Dizzy and Gil are the only villain kids whose parents never made appearances in any of the films on-screen. Uma's mother, Ursula, did appear in Descendants 2 (2017), but only her tentacles were shown, and her voice was heard off-screen. While Dizzy's grandmother Lady Tremaine appears in Descendants 3 (2019), her mother, Drizella, never appears.
Lonnie (Daughter of Mulan) and Audrey (daughter of Sleeping Beauty) are the only of the main characters to not appear in all three movies, due to the actresses involvement in other projects.
