This was actually completed in February 2002, but was not released until nearly two years later, in December 2003.
Tiffany Shepis said she was cast after the movie was completed because producers decided they wanted to bring a few more "names" to the cast. They called her and said, "Hey, how'd you like to play a lesbian gal who gets slashed up real quick?" She said she would if her friend Renee Madison Cole could play the other girl in the scene. They agreed. Next thing she knew, she was running around the desert in the heat wearing really tight shorts.
The film's plot bares a great resemblance to The Hills Have Eyes (1977).
The film's title was obviously inspired by Wrong Turn (2003).
