Actress Joanna Pickering was approached and agreed to appear in the initial cast roster. She attended part of a preliminary cast meeting and also appeared in the original investment materials for the film. However for the actual shoot dates, the producers cast actor Eric Eastman in the role of Michael, and actress Kristin Muri was recast as Muriel.
A penthouse on Manhattan's Upper Westside was originally slated to be used as a location for the film, but the owner's of the building changed their minds. A replacement location was found in Westchester County's, Pleasantville, NY. The location was incorporated into the narrative of the shooting script.
The producer and writer of the film informed that the character of Muriel was written with British actress Joanna Pickering in mind.
