Driver Jamuna is another well-written Tamil thriller film that explores concepts of helplessness in the midst of a gang war. However, the reviews are extremely mixed. While some critics praise the movie's female lead plot that shows a strong and brave character taking on the world, others criticise the poor direction, bad acting, and tricky climax scenes. The only saving grace of the film is Aishwarya Rajesh's powerful performance that makes up for the other lacking bits. She is the only that carries the film on her shoulders, despite poor performances by most supporting actors in the cast. The movie tries to keep it raw, especially during scenes in the cab, but that acts as a deterrent as viewers do not prefer the shaky scenes. The idea of the director ends up harming the plot and really distracting everyone from the main point of the script.
