Actor Steven Williams was personally approached by Joseph Strickland in 1993 as being the filmmaker's first choice to portray the lead in Dual Mania.
The late actor James Spinks, of "Car Wash" fame, was given an honorary role in Dual Mania by Joseph Strickland and Cat Ellington prior to his death in 1996.
When Variety published the pre-production notices for "Dual Mania" in March of 1994, the film's cast had been a completely different ensemble than the reconstructed cast that made it to the principal photography phase.
Well-known Chicago musician James "Kimo" Williams had originally been set to compose the score for Dual Mania.
The screenplay for Dual Mania was inspired by the Jeffrey Dahmer trial.
