Corey Burton narrated the movie by doing an imitation of Paul Frees who narrated some of the original The Dudley Do-Right Show (1969) cartoons. (William Conrad was the primary narrator, and Frees subbed in whenever Conrad was overworked.)
Celebrities referenced: Wayne Gretzky, David Duchovny, Doris Day, Snoop Dogg, Daphne Du Maurier, Dolores del Rio, Dan Rather, Dom DeLuise, Daniel Day-Lewis, and Bette Midler.
Jim Carrey contemplated playing the role of Dudley Do-Right, as he was a fan of the Rocky and Bullwinkle Show and he felt playing a Mountie would honor his Canadian heritage. But decided not to so he can fully concentrate on Man on the Moon (1999)
Alex Rocco (Kumquat Chief) previously starred in Boris and Natasha (1992), also spun-off from The Bullwinkle Show (1959). Corey Burton narrated both films.
The film was released in 1999 which marked the 40th anniversary of The Bullwinkle Show (1959).
"Snidely K. 'Whip' Whiplash: [after boulders come rolling down the hill at them] That's not fair! They've got rocks! All we've got are these machine guns. Oh, mother of pearl, here comes another one."
"Snidely K. 'Whip' Whiplash: [referring to the letters 'D.D.' being shot into the wall with bullets] Do you have any idea what this could possibly mean? Lavar: Doris Day. Just a guess. Shane: [thinks long and hard] Dom Deluise. Kenneth: Daniel Day-Lewis. In the Way Back: Snoop Doggy Dogg. Another Bad Guy: Daphne du Maurier. Snidely K. 'Whip' Whiplash: Oh, shut up. In The Back: Doc Duvalier. Lefty: David Duchovny? In The Back: Delores Del Rio. Snidely K. 'Whip' Whiplash: Shut up, you idiots. Kenneth: Dan Rather. Snidely K. 'Whip' Whiplash: These initials could only mean one thing: Dudley Do-Right."
