The general interior Christmas decor from location to location - the Green home, the Pine Architecture office, the coffee shop - is remarkably similar, with evergreen garlands strung throughout with red bows and poinsettias, red and gold baubles, and white lights.
This project is a Harmon family affair. Husband and wife Allan Harmon and Cynde Harmon portray husband and wife Sam and Lydia Green, lead character Holly Green's parents. Allan and Cynde's daughter, Jessica Harmon, is not only the movie's director, but she has a small role as Faith, the client of the party in the opening scene.
Many of the character names are Christmas/holiday related. The lead character's family name is Green, a primary color of the season. The architecture family surname is Pine, as in the type of tree often used as a Christmas tree. The Green sisters are named Holly and Joy. The Pine Architecture office manager is named Nick (i.e. St. Nick). The client in the opening scene is named Faith. And Holly's boss is named Eve Dasher, the surname as in one of Santa's reindeer.
