Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan were seen in promotional posters of the film making it look like they were the stars of the film. However both only make cameo appearances and do not share any scenes together.
When the film was launched , it was titled " Lucky Boy". Later Mehmood decided to change the title. The film was based on Lucky Ali's drug addiction when he was young. Mehmood wanted Lucky Ali to play the lead role. He refused.
When the film was being made as "Lucky Boy" Mehmood wanted son Mansoor Ali to sing in the film. Mansoor wanted to but did not feel confident enough.
Anu Malik was scoring the music with Lucky Ali but walked out due to differences.
