The scene with Curly Howard getting in a fight with his bowl of clam chowder had to be stopped and restarted several times during filming (watch the tassels on Curly's cap swing and stop) because the crew members were laughing so hysterically at Curly he was also breaking up laughing.
"Moe Click: Hey, can we shoot a picture of him? Army Sergeant: Yes. You shoot the picture, and we shoot you!"
"Clack: We're supposed to have a last request! Curly Cluck: Certainly, this is request night! Army Sergeant: What do you request? Moe Click: How about a last smoke? Army Sergeant: OK. But when the smoke is finished, so are you! [Curly pulls out a giant cigar; Army Sergeant does a double take] Curly Cluck: Nyuk, nyuk, nyuk, nyuk, nyuk."
