In the novel, Dan Killian and Bobby Thompson are TRM show's producer and host, respectively (Richard Dawson covered both roles in 1987 as DAMON Killian), and the 2025 trailer shows that it uses the element of TRM being a global manhunting game show that takes place in the real world (in 1987, the entire series was just filmed in closed off areas of the real world.).
