TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

When Edward is on top of the bus, the people riding on tour buses next to him laughing and pointing at him weren't extras, but real tourists.

Idina Menzel, a Broadway veteran and Tony Award winner, does not sing in the movie. In an interview, Menzel stated she felt flattered to be hired solely as an actress.

Several non-singers made their singing debuts in this movie, including Patrick Dempsey. The only main character who does not sing is Nancy, played by Idina Menzel - who has two Tony award nominations and one win for Broadway musical singing roles.

The law firm where Robert Philip (Patrick Dempsey) works is Churchill, Harline, and Smith, the surnames of the songwriters from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937).

The wedding dress that Giselle (Amy Adams) wore weighed forty-five pounds. A stunt double taught Adams how to move in the dress. She described it as "gruelling" since "the entire weight was on my hips, so occasionally it felt like I was in traction."

Popular Dialogues

"Prince Edward: Thank you for taking care of my bride, peasants."

"Morgan Philip: Remember, when you go out not to put too much makeup otherwise the boys will get the wrong idea and you know how they are... [off Giselle's wide-eyed look] Morgan Philip: They're only after one thing. Giselle: What's that? Morgan Philip: [laughs] I don't know. Nobody will tell me."
