TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

Seth MacFarlane, the creator of Family Guy, played the voices of 26 different characters, including his usual Peter (Han Solo), Stewie (Darth Vader), Brian (Chewbacca) and Quagmire (C-3PO) this sets a record for most characters voiced in a series.

Originally, the emperor was portrayed by Death (the Family Guy Grim Reaper character), but during the writing of Family Guy's upcoming spoof of Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi (1983), the writers decided that Carter Pewterschmidt would make a better emperor. As a result, the emperor scene in this episode was re-animated with Carter in the role. Though unintentional, this sequence of events closely mirrors events surrounding the exact same scene in the real Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980). An unknown elderly actress was hired to play the small role of the emperor in "The Empire Strikes Back", with a male voice-over. But when the role became more extensive in "Return of the Jedi", actor Ian McDiarmid was chosen for the role and went on to replay the role in all three Star Wars prequels. After the prequel trilogy was completed two decades later, George Lucas re-shot the emperor's scene in "The Empire Strikes Back" with McDiarmid in the role, to bring the scene in line with all the other movies in the series. All current releases of "The Empire Strikes Back" have McDiarmid playing the emperor instead of the original actress.

At the end after the story, Peter says "We got time for another story, it's called Without a Paddle (2004)" and Chris says "F**k you, dad!". This is because Seth Green (the man who does the voice for Chris) was in Without a Paddle (2004).

Originally weatherman Ollie Williams was to play Lando Calrissian, before it it was decided to instead use Mort Goldman to fill the role.

Of the three "Family Guy" Star Wars episodes that were made, this is the only one whose name comes from a gag on "Family Guy" and not from Star Wars itself. "Blue Harvest" was the "working title" while filming Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi (1983), and "It's a Trap" is a famous and often parodied line of dialogue spoken by Admiral Ackbar.

Popular Dialogues

"Lois Griffin as Princess Leia: [before Han is lowered into the carbon-freezing pit] I love you. Peter Griffin as Han Solo: Fuck off."

"Peter Griffin: Well, let's see Robot Chicken top this one. Chris Griffin: Actually, I think they did a pretty good job with that already, Dad. Peter Griffin: Well, I'll have to take your word for it. I don't watch Comedy Central. Chris Griffin: It's on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim, Dad. I'm pretty sure you know that. Peter Griffin: I don't know that. I haven't seen that show in a while and I don't know that anyone else has. Chris Griffin: Oh, I think plenty of people have. Their fans are pretty loyal to them. Peter Griffin: Oh yeah? All forty-two of them? Chris Griffin: [sighs] I'm not gonna let you get to me this time, Dad. I'm not gonna let you get to me. Peter Griffin: Well, maybe I got time for another story, then. It's called Without a Paddle. Chris Griffin: Fuck you, Dad!"
