The ''Neil Angwin'' name called out in a roll call in the classroom is actually an in-joke and is the name of the film's production designer.

Actor Rod Zuanic received an 'introducing' credit.

Some of the film's cast appeared both in this movie Fast Talking (1984) and another Australian youth drama, Fighting Back (1982), which had been made and first released around a couple of years earlier.

The first filmed production collaboration of Tracy Mann and Steve Bisley who later both appeared in the tele-movie 'The Brush-Off' (2004), five episodes of 'East of Everything' (2008), and the 'Two to Tango' (1996) episode of 'G.P.' (1989-1996).

The period of principal photography on this picture ran for about six weeks.
