The actor Chris Marquette who plays Ben also starred in Freddy vs. Jason (2003) he and Joe played by Lucus Neff are seen dressed as Jason and Freddy respectively for Halloween.
Three of the actors in the film have appeared on American Horror Story (2011) : Naomi Grossman in seasons two and four, Leslie Jordan in seasons three and six, and David Ury in season one.
In the scene where Ben is floating on a flamingo in the pool and "gets iced" its a kasprzak ice he drinks. Named for producer Heather kasprzak.
