A sequel, tentatively titled "Freddie Goes To Washington", was already in the works long before Freddie as F.R.O.7. (1992) was released. Because of the latter movie's poor performance at the box-office, the project was indefinitely shelved.
Was the lowest grossing U.S. release animated movie of all time until The Ten Commandments (2007) and Delgo (2008) broke its record.
The film began life in the early 1970s, when writer and director Jon Acevski made up bedtime stories about a secret agent frog for his young son.
The title character, F.R.O.7., is a play on the code number 007, the number for Agent James Bond, who was originally created by Ian Fleming. Also, the letter "G", which is at the end of the word "frog", is the seventh letter of the alphabet.
The last theatrical movie for Sir Michael Hordern (King) and Victor Maddern (Old Gentleman Raven).
"[Freddie has just met Daffers] Freddie: [smoothly] Delighted to meet "you", Daffers. [kisses her hand] Freddie: I'm afraid I don't have much use for gadgets but... [looks down her chest] Freddie: [referring to her robot fly] I like the landing area."
"Freddie: I've always wanted to go to - what do you call it? - the U S A!"
