From Me To You: Kimi ni Todoke is a coming-of-age series that follows 15-year-old Sawako Kuronuma, who is dubbed "Sadako" by her classmates due to her resemblance to the character from The Ring. She is shy, misunderstood and has a creepy reputation that most of her classmates stay away from. However, she encounters Shota Kazehaya, the most popular person in the class, under a massive cherry blossom tree and hopes for a fresh start. As the story progresses, Sawako and Kazehaya get to know each other, and he stands up for her, defending her against the negative rumors. The anime series is based on a manga and a 2009-11 anime series of the same name. The performances of Oji Suzuka and Sara Minami as Kazehaya and Sawako are impressive. The atmospheric visuals in the rural town where the show takes place enhance the coming-of-age story's mood. It is an entirely feel-good series that takes the audience on a journey of good feelings for a dozen episodes. It does not shy away from conflicts and roadblocks, which include misunderstandings and the notion that it's tough for Sawako to open up. Nevertheless, the story emphasizes the importance of friendships as Sawako, a person who has mostly been alone, makes supportive classmates who genuinely get to know and like her. From Me To You: Kimi ni Todoke is a heartwarming and satisfying anime series with no sexual content. The first episode ends with Kazehaya's voiceover expressing his feelings for Sawako and hoping that someday it reaches out from him to her.
Based on manga series "Kimi ni Todoke" by Karuho Shiina ( published from December 13, 2005 to November 13, 2017 in manga magazine Bessatsu Margaret).
