The film follows South African naturalist Dr. Steve Boyes on his mission to discover if a hitherto undiscovered mega-species of giant elephants, or 'ghost elephants', exists in the vast highland plateau of Angola. Boyes believes these elephants may be genetically related to the largest elephant ever recorded, now on display at the Smithsonian. The expedition, guided by master trackers, ventures deep into a remote and ecologically vital African watershed to find evidence of these mythical creatures.
