Shivaji Maharaj fought Afzal Khan as the destroyed temples, tortured women, killed local people and cows, but in movie Shivaji Maharaj is accused by Shared Kelkar that he was fighting with Afzal only for revenge of his brother's murder.The way Afzal Khan Vadh was shown, was completely different and unrealistic, that to the historic sources and references. Also Baji Prabhu were not there at the scene during the Pratapgad Battle.
Baji Prabhu is depicted as a friend to Shivaji Maharaj but instead according to history in reality, he was a father- figure and they had significant age gap between them.
Wrong portrayal of Baji Prabhu's Elder Brother Phulaji Deshpande, only to make the movie dramatic.
Dialogues were cheap and modern in contrast to the rich and pure marathi language used in that period in Swaraj.
Bahirji, the head of Chhatrapati's Spy Army was not in the film, although he had major contributions throughout the events. Also no other important Mavala is shown.
