In 2014, the project was entitled "4 Towers" and was set up to star Dolph Lundgren as the villain, Scott Adkins as the lead hero, and Gianni Capaldi. Willem Dafoe was also rumoured to be cast. James Coyne was to direct. By the spring 2015, Rutger Hauer, Steven Seagal, Costas Mandylor and Vinnie Jones were the stars attached with Giorgio Serafini set to direct. The project stalled until 2018.
This is the second time that Dolph Lundgren plays a character named Michael Anderson after 'Cover-Up' (1991).
