STORY

Story
Set in a senior high school class, J.J. (Michael J. Fox) pursues the girlfriend of a rival from a higher clique which culminates in a race at the end of the movie between the two rivals in this light comedy.

Trivia

In a scene where Beth (Nancy McKeon) tells Jay-Jay (Michael J. Fox) that she just wants to be friends, Jay-Jay replies, "Like Wally and Lumpy... I'll pass." Tony Dow and Frank Bank, who played Wally and Lumpy on Leave It to Beaver (1957), also appear in the film.

An uncredited Brad Pitt appears briefly as the bumbling nerd in the library scene.

The first of three Michael J. Fox movies, for which the late Composer Miles Goodman would write the score. The others were Poison Ivy (1985) (which also co-starred Nancy McKeon) and the surprise hit, Teen Wolf (1985).

The school used in the filming of High School U.S.A. is Excelsior High School in Norwalk, CA, where Grease 2 (1982) and the TV show Square Pegs (1982) was filmed.

Michael J. Fox and Crispin Glover appeared in Family Ties (1982) and Back To The Future (1985).
