IMDbHigh Water is a Polish series that focuses on the aftermath of World War 2, and how it led to an ecological disaster. Revolving around the Central European Flood of 1997, this series shows how war causes great damage to humans and nature and how some determined people set out to reverse this damage. One of the only Polish dramas on Netflix to make it big, High Water is engrossing right from the start. While the show is dramatised for effect, it makes good use of certain non-existent characters to bring home the point that it is trying to make. There is a sub-plot in the series that moves alongside the main one, making the story even more intriguing. All in all, the characters are very believable with real issues, the plot moves smoothly, the cinematography is intense, and the acting is on point. Making for a nice weekend viewing if you are into this kind of content.
