Pinky (Kajol) and Bunty (Atul Agnihotri) make an instant connection at a college fair. The film was earlier titled CHAAL. The title was changed to make Kajol appear to be the central character in the film.
The film was long in the making for several years.
Juhi Chawla was the first choice for Ayesha Jhulka's role.
When launched in 1994, it was titled Prem Chakra.
Kajol was the only one used for the film's promotion. The rest of the cast ( Jackie, Atul , Ayesha) were all kept out due to their declining star power.
