TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

The McDonald's that Kevin is seen visiting in Sewickley was an empty storefront. The small town of Sewickley, in which most of this movie was filmed, does not have a McDonald's, so they built a complete functional one that was open for business during the shoot and then closed and dismantled.

John Candy was the first choice to play Kevin Franklin, but he died before filming began.

Second of three films that Phil Hartman and Sinbad appeared in together. The first one was Coneheads (1993) and the last was Jingle All the Way (1996). However, they only share screen time in this film.

This was Sinbad's first leading role in a movie.

In 1995, both this film and Bye Bye Love (1995) featured extensive McDonald's product placement, but neither film was accompanied by a promotional tie-in with McDonald's.

Popular Dialogues

"[Kevin's shipment of baseball cards come in] Kevin Franklin: The entire 1994 baseball season, know what I'm saying? I got Ken Griffey Jr. here, Barry Bonds, Jose Canseco. People spend big money for baseball cards, but if they get hurt, it's even worth more money! Say one of them's going to the car after the game, gets hit - pow! I don't wanna see it happen, but if it does, I'm getting paid!"

"Pauly Gasperini: [hangs up phone] Happy's not happy. Joey Gasperini: Who is he, then?"
