Moushami Chatterjee signed on to the film but later opted out after her husband Babu demanded that she leave the film once he found out about her relationship with Boney Kapoor.
Anil Kapoor helped with the production of the film despite being a qualified actor himself. This angered him because he was looking for a break in films. He was angry that his father was not making a film for him. Every day it upset him that he was made to drive the stars around and serve them coffee.
During Gulshan Grover's struggling days he did plays. Surinder Kapoor saw Gulshan Grover in one play and signed him for the film.
Since 'Hum Paanch' was shot far away in a remote location, there was very little entertainment. Every night after pack-up, Boney Kapoor would bring the film reels of his production 'Ponga Pandit' with him to the sets. Boney would then use a projector and show the unit the song "Woh Mere Peeche" that was filmed by Danny Denzongpa. The entire unit would erupt with laughter seeing Danny sing and dance with a big hat on. This was the unit's only entertainment.
Anil Kapoor took care of the production and had to look after everyone's needs.
