Dingdong Dantes was the first choice to play Marvin Agustin's role. Dingdong, a cast in the two OctoArts-Jose Javier Reyes production, turned down this movie to concentrate on Mulawin: The Movie (2005), another Metro Manila Film Festival entry.
Diether Ocampo was originally attached to the movie.
Third installment in the joint projects between Canary Films and Jose Javier Reyes. The two other works are Malikmata (2003), and Spirit of the Glass (2004). Cast members Rica Peralejo, and Marvin Agustin are the relevant staples in the Reyes-Canary "franchise" movies.
Ryan Agoncillo asked permission from Alfie Lorenzo, the manager of his girlfriend Judy Ann Santos, to do this movie. Before Kutob was offered to him, Ryan was supposed to appear on the movie for the very first time opposite Santos.
