TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

The title is derived from the song by the late Warren Zevon.

Julie Christie, Jacqueline Bisset and Vanessa Redgrave were all considered for the role that went to Charlotte Rampling.

Clive Owen had previously worked with Mike Hodges on Croupier (1998).

It's possible Will Graham could be suffering from Clinical Depression. This is hinted at in dialogue when it is mentioned that Will had a breakdown and hence him leaving London and going into exile for 3 years.

Trevor Preston actually wrote the screenplay for this film 10 years previously. As the core subject of the film is male rape, it not surprisingly sat on the shelf for a long time before anyone was prepared to make it.

Popular Dialogues

"Will: Look at me. Look at what I've become. I sometimes don't talk to another living soul for fucking days, weeks. I'm always on the move. I trust no one, nothing. And it's got fuck-all to do with escape or withdrawal or fear. It's grief. For a life wasted. And now there's Davey. Another fucking wasted life. And I'm gonna find out why."

"Will: I'm gonna kill you. I am going to kill you. Not now. Not tonight. That would be too easy. Maybe next week. Next month. You'll never know. Think about it. One day, one night, I'll be there."
