A crane accident on the set of the film resulted in the deaths of 3 crew members and the injury of 10 others. In fact, director Shankar, Kamal Haasan and Kajal Aggarwal narrowly escaped the accident themselves. Following the accident, Shankar donated 1 Crore Rupees to the families of the affected.
Greg Orvis received a straight offer to play "Longton". Fortunately for him, the production didn't agree to his terms; had they done so, he was scheduled to start work on 18 February 2020, the day before a crane collapsed on set, killing three of the crew, and injuring ten others.
During the early years of his career, Anirudh worked on Shankar's I (2015) as a playback singer for the song "Mersalaayitten". Now, 6 years later, he is the music director for a Shankar film.
