TRIVIA

Trivia

Director Annie Baker and star Julianne Nicholson grew up in the Medford, Massachusetts area, which is also where the film takes place. Neither of them knew this fact about each other until a random conversation they were having.

Annie Baker's directorial debut.

The song "Hammond Song", written by Maggie Roche and recorded and released by The Roches in 1979, can be heard on the soundtrack of the trailer for this movie, but is not featured in the movie.

This film features little to no non-diegetic music, meaning all of the featured music is plausibly produced / heard by the characters themselves.

Zoe Ziegler's on-screen acting debut. According to Annie Baker, Ziegler was not cast in the lead role of Lacy until about a month before shooting began.
