The film was started in 1982 and delayed for several years. It was said that Anil Kapoor delayed the film by not shooting for it. If shooting for it and then not dubbing for it. One night the producer Surinder Kaur in a fit of rage slapped Anil Kapoor outside a suburban hotel.
The producer claimed she made a profit on the film. She signed Anil Kapoor for 1.5 Lakhs in 1982 when he was a newcomer and the production cost was 35 Lakhs. The distributors offered 15 Lakhs per territory in 1989 but the producer demanded 22 Lakhs. Thus in the end she got the profit.
