TRIVIA

Trivia

Headlining this film, actors Judy Davis and Colin Friels in real life are a married couple.

This filmed adaptation of the novel of the same name by writer D.H. Lawrence was made and released about sixty-four years after the 'Kangaroo' novel was first published in 1923.

Final theatrical feature film of Australian director Tim Burstall.

Second Australian theatrical feature film to be called 'Kangaroo'. The first, Kangaroo (1952), was an American western set in Australia with Aerican lead stars, and is completely unrelated to this film. This later same-titled movie is not a remake of Kangaroo (1952). These two "Kangaroo" titled movies were made and released about thirty-four years apart.

Novelist D.H. Lawrence lived in Australia for three months in 1922 and a year later published his short-semi-biographical novel 'Kangaroo' in 1923. This picture is an Australian film.
