TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

Paresh Rawal was signed for Akshay Kumar's role. The producer dropped him to add more commercial value to the film. Thus he signed Akshay.

Rajkumar Santoshi wanted to make a film about cops with Amitabh Bachchan ever since he was involved as an assistant in Ardh Satya (1983).

Jaya Prada had a full-fledged role, but because of her commitment to her sick husband who was hospitalized, her role was trimmed down to a guest appearance.

Akshaye Khanna was offered the role that eventually went to Tusshar Kapoor. He declined because of the scene where Amitabh Bachchan is forced to be slapped, and felt it was too disrespectful. Had he signed on, the main cast's first names would've all began with A - Amitabh, Akshaye, Akshay, Aishwarya, Ajay, Atul.

Prakash Raj's voice was dubbed.

Popular Dialogues

"DCP Anant Kumar Shrivastav: We are scheduled to leave for Chandangarh at 11am, and if everything goes according to plan, we'll be back here with Ansari on the day after. But we have to do this carefully, and within the framework of the law... follow the rules. This enemy we are up against has no name, nor face. We don't know how many of the enemy there are, except that there are many in number. We don't know what kind of weapons they have, except that they are better than ours. We don't know when, where or how they will ambush us. But we know they will surely attack. To get Ansari released, they can go to any extent, so be careful. Any questions? Fine. We leave in 10 minutes. Good luck, gentlemen. [officers salute]"

"Yashwant Angre, Former Police Officer: Any last wish? Sr. Inspector Shekhar Verma: Please don't tell anybody how I was killed... or people will stop believing in relationships and love."
