Jivas role was given to str aka silambarasan who refused it and jiva took it later..and it turned out to be jivas biggest hit ever.
Initially the film was rumored to have Karthi in the lead. However, it was later officially announced that Silambarasan Rajendar would play the lead in the film, but was later replaced by Jiiva. Actors Ajith Kumar and Suriya were also considered for the role.
The lead female role was initially supposed to be enacted by Tamannaah Bhatia, who was replaced by Karthika Nair.
The film's plot outline is inspired from State of Play (2009).
