The apartment of one of the main characters has a front door that opens into the hallway rather than into the apartment. This goes against building regulations, and serves no purpose in the movie, as opposed to Double Indemnity (1944) where such a door opening into the hallway has a specific reason. So it seems nothing more than an oversight on the set-builders' part.
Final film of Helen MacKellar.
"Finch: [takes out a notebook] You might give me the names of all the other boys you know, that you go out with. Suzy: All of them? I hope you've got plenty of paper. Finch: Well, I could believe there'd be a long list. Suzy: Oh, Mr Finch!"
"Detective: This isn't one of those tough cases which depends on clues. [as Finch surreptitiously pockets a vital piece of evidence]"
