Laththi is one of the most anticipated Tamil action thrillers of 2022, but the box office performance and critic reviews have disappointed everyone. The general consensus is that the movie lacks the grit and dark elements that constitute a good action thriller flick. It is a police action film that is engaging in certain scenes, but overall is a boring film to watch. Especially with brilliant Tamil movies already streaming online, giving time to Laththi is really not worth it. One good aspect of the film's plot is that it stays away from cliched sequences that police dramas are known for. Instead it goes for an offbeat cop who is stuck in a battle with a gangster's son. The long-drawn stunt scenes in the second half of the film drag it down. The sequences are unusually long, not to forget the fact that they are extremely unrealistic and hold the potential to draw you away from the film itself.
