Originally a Disney Channel original movie until it was funded by Columbia-TriStar, with Samuel Goldwyn Films owning the distribution.
There are several references by the film's lead to a fictional orchestral music soloist named Samuel Cardon. The composer for this film is Sam Cardon and the name-dropping was a homage/injoke.
Michael Angarano (Philip) didn't have to audition for the movie.
In Isabelle's bedroom, you can see *NSYNC, No Doubt, Stone Temple Pilots, blink-182, and Britney Spears posters on the wall.
