TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

In one particular scene, Ranveer was required to exhibit pain, for which the actor went a step ahead and actually hurt himself to emote the sequence in the best possible manner. Ranveer kept piercing himself repeatedly with a safety pin for this shot.

An adaptation of O. Henry's short story "The Last Leaf".

Originally, the film's premise was set in the present time, and not in the 1950s. But during the story's developing stages, Motwane realized that the film would not leave the kind of impact on his audience in the modern setting as he intended. Immediately, changes were done in the script in order to make it more engaging. That's how the film turned into a period romance.

When Ranveer Singh read the film's script for the very first time, he wasn't sure if he could pull off the part. In fact, he even turned down the offer right away. It was on the director's insistence that Ranveer agreed to have another session of script reading. And as soon as Motwane was done telling the film's story to him, Ranveer was greatly impressed by it and found himself confident enough to get into the skin of the character.

The old temple shown in the movie is situated in the Purulia district of West Bengal. It's among several temples that lie in ruin around the district and some of them date back to the pre-Mughal era.
