The entire Japanese village set and house were built in Tunisia, Northern Africa.

The cast and crew were given strict instructions prior to production. In order to keep the interior of house set in pristine condition, eating and drinking on the set was prohibited and no shoes were allowed. Everyone entering the set was required to wear slippers, issued by the production team.
