TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

After Maradona's death in 2020, the name of the St Paolo stadium where Maradona had played with Napoli was changed to the Diego Armando Maradona stadium. He's still very popular in Napoli. Napoli never won the Italian Championship (serie A) since Maradona stopped playing there.

The hand of God" was a phrase used by Argentine footballer Diego Maradona to describe a goal that he scored during the Argentina vs. England quarter finals match of the 1986 FIFA World Cup. The goal took place on 22 June 1986, at the Estadio Azteca (Aztec Stadium) in Mexico City, and sent Argentina to the semifinals where they beat Belgium. They would end up winning the World Cup beating West Germany 3-2 on the final.

Diego Maradona is loved by the people of Argentina because he single-handedly carried the national team to the world cup final and claimed the trophy in 1986. It was extremely important for their nation as it came right after the Falkland's war and it was the best time to claim the world cup glory.

Former England goalkeeper Peter Shilton said that he, along with several other former England players, declined an invitation to attend the movie's UK premiere because they were playing darts.
