TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

Both Chadwick Boseman and Thurgood Marshall went to Howard University.

This was the fourth biographical figure played by Chadwick Boseman. He also played James Brown in Get on Up (2014), Jackie Robinson in 42 (2013), and Floyd Little in The Express (2008).

Sam Friedman attends Temple Rodeph Shalom with his family. "Rodeph shalom" (sometimes spelled "rodef shalom") is Hebrew for "pursuer of peace." The Talmud applies this label to a person who stands for justice, as Friedman does in this movie.

When Marshall arrives at the train station, he arrives in Central Terminal, a real historic train station in Buffalo, NY. The building is a wreck in real life, and the windows shown were digitally restored.

Several scenes take place outside the courthouse. They were shot on the steps of Buffalo, New York, City Hall.

Popular Dialogues

"Thurgood Marshall: The Constitution was not written for us. We know that. But no matter what it takes, we're going to make it work for us. From now on, we claim it as our own."

"Thurgood Marshall: I wouldn't be here if I didn't think we could win."
