Editor W. Peter Miller said it originally earned an NC-17 from the MPAA Ratings Board, but they expected that. After seeing the dailies for the explicit lesbian sex scenes between Erika Nann and Suzanne Slater, they knew the film would get the NC-17 once completed. Miller had to cut five minutes of footage before the MPAA finally gave it an R.
