Story

A clause in Eddie Murphy's contract for doing Shrek 2 (2004) forbade him from reprising the role of Mushu in this film, therefore having his other voice actor Mark Moseley (a man best known for filling in for Murphy's characters like Mushu and Donkey in their TV and Video Game appearances) fill in for this film.

Mulan's horse is black but she wears the white side of the yin yang symbol while Shang's horse is white but he wears the black side of the yin yang symbol.

Michelle Kwan, world champion ice skater, is the voice of the shopkeeper in the village. When showing Chien-Po the ginger, she skates around the stand.

There were considerations of a third Mulan film, but the idea was scrapped along with many other planned sequels after John Lasseter become CCO (Chief Creative Officer) of both Disney and Pixar.

When Mulan is putting luggage onto the carriage, a hidden Mickey can be seen on the purple luggage.
