TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

Jason Lee, a former professional skateboarder, did all his skateboarding scenes.

Zooey Deschanel's first film.

The skateboard that Skip uses in the movie is made by Stereo Skateboards, the company that actor Jason Lee co-founded in 1992 and still co-owns. The yellow circular graphic logo of Stereo Skateboards is visible on the deck of the board at two points in the film, outside of Lily's café when the coach of diners arrives, and at Skip's HQ when he meets with Dr Mumford. The word "Stereo" can also be briefly seen on the board when Skip sets it down on the table before showing the Doc his laboratory.

Johnny Depp was offered to play Mumford, but proved to be unavailable, before the role eventually went to Loren Dean.

Simon Helberg has a brief cameo as Dr. Mumford's college roommate. This is his first acting credit. He was only 18 at the time of film's release date (September 24th 1999).

Popular Dialogues
